Working out sucks: at least, that’s what I always think as I drag my sorry ass to the gym after taking an involuntary and lengthy hiatus. In such situations, I should be ecstatic, and if I had left the gym in what has become average shape in this country—weak and fat—then I probably would feel the same excitement returning to the gym after a month layoff as after a single-day layoff. A new week and an old injury: these marked the theme for the workout today. The injury’s not that old, really…I suffered it only a week ago, but still, these things should heal themselves much faster. Monday was my first day back to the gym in a week and I wanted to blow out my legs. Really, that’s my main goal for the next 12 weeks: grow huge quads.
